Legos for girls

Callie's two counsins love to play Legos. So when the girl Legos came out she was all over it. Her Mimi and Paw bought her the car to start with. I spent one afternoon helping Callie. (I think I messed it up more then helped.) Callie had it down and loved putting it together. It is not exactly perfect but it works and Callie loves it. Our first Lego project was a sucess.

Snow, well kind of

Well of course it would happen. I went out of town for a girl's trip last weekend. We have had a great winter until I was to go out of town. So Monday it hit. Chris left early and said there was just some snow but nothing bad. UMMMMM what?? I should have know. It took me 10 minutes to get out of our tiny neighborhood. Then at the end of the street I see cars turining around beacuse cars were slipping all over the hill. So I turn around and come back. Well finally I get enough nerve to try the hill. I made it but it was BAD. It took 45 minutes to get Callie to school when it normally is about 15 minutes. Wow! Well when the kids got home there was a little left. They had some fun playing away. It was all gone by the next morning.

Valentine's Day

I am sorry to say that we are not HUGE Valentine's Day people at our house. We try to do something creative for the girls. I have never really been a fan of the store bought cards. Well now with Pintrest it has become a chore. Callie was not allowed to send candy so we just did a bag full of stuff and I just bought stickers instead of cards. Carsyn had the same Valentine this year but we added a bag of oranges. Carsyn missed her party because I can not drive in snow so we stayed home. We stayed home and had steaks and just relaxed. It was a great night. I hope everyone had a great day with the ones they love!

One of the girls asked Callie to be in the Variety Show at school. I thought no way. She wanted to do it though. They did motions to the fight song and then said Roar. They had to perform 3 different times. She rocked it everytime. We are so proud. She might ne a cheerleader after all. Alot of kids danced but I really thought our kids did a great job showing their Grizzly Pride!

Our neighbors had a Ugly Sweater Party. It was so much fun. I made our swaeters this year. After this picture Chris asked me if I thought this was a cruel joke they were gong to play on the new Texas people. What if when we got there everyone was dressed nice. It made me laugh. Needless to say we were way under tacky for the party. These people go WAY out. It was fun and I got some great ideas for next year!

Winter Meet

Callie has always wanted to get a medal. Her gym center had a Winter Meet this year and we signed up quickly. She got to perfom in front of everyone. She did so well and was all smiles. This is a big change from early in her life when she cried whenever anyone looked at her. We are so proud of you little girl!

It is hard to believe that our little girl is 7. We had a week full of fun. Callie loves playing teacher so she got a loaded classroom for her birthday. We also got to have a fun Art birthday party with some of her friends. It was a great party full of arts and crafts which Callie and the girls loved. It was a great time that everyone enjoyed. We love you sweet Callie bug!

We had awonderful Halloween. We went Trick or Treating with our neighbors. It was a great time with great friends. The girls got to go get candy at Tyson and they were spoiled by all the people. So on the real night we took it very easy and just had a relaxing time. Callie wanted to be a waitress and she looked so cute. Carsyn was a Minnie Pumpkin and she was also adorable. What a fun night!

Another great thing about living in a smaller town is there is ALWAYS something fun to do. We have many more activities to participate in before Monday. We got to go Trick or Treating at Tyson and we had so much fun. The girls loved seeing daddy and not to mention they were spoiled with candy galore. We also got to go to a Halloween party at the Garton's house. The kids had a blast and they loved seeing all the fun activites Amber had planned. So much fun! Check out Chris' costume. Last weekend we went to Oklahoma to celebrate Mimi's and Uncle Scott's birthdays. The kids had not seen each other in awhile and they had so much fun playing. They played so well together and had a blast being with each other. We had fun celebrating two very special people and their birthday!

Callie finished her first soccer season today. She started out the season being a little nervous but she ended with a BANG. She did such a great job! We are so proud. You can see the award she got. Carsyn had a talent show at school a couple of weeks ago. In our family we do not have the best luck with performances. Well Carsyn is a little different so we hoped that it would not be a repeat. I was worried though since she is only 3. Well we were ALL smiles! Happy as could be!

Trikes and Blues

In Fayetteville each year they have a huge Bikes,Blues and BBQ festival. It is so neat. Well, they have a trike parade at Carsyn's school. It is fun. Carsyn wanted to ride her scooter that Aunt Kristen gave her. It is one that you have to lean to turn. She practiced forever. She loved it. Daddy came to watch. It took a few minutes for her to warm up to Mommy and Daddy at school. She got going though and there was no stopping her. She LOVED it!

Well I am sad to say it has taken so long to get these pictures up to date. I am only going to touch on a couple of things of the trip. I am in the middle of making individual books for each of the girls for them to have forever. So as you can imagine that is where the detailed info will be. In the short version. WE HAD A BLAST! It was hot but so much fun. Carsyn asks each day to go back! We loved the area and the company that went with us. It was exhuasting but worth every minute of heat! Callie had NO fear and rode EVERYTHING! Carsyn was happy to just be with Luke. They both were great. Carsyn did not want to smile in alot of the pictures but I do promise she had so much fun!

Callie had her first spelling test last week. Well, I am happy to say that the first grade our little girl got was a 100%. We are so proud of her and all her hard work at school. She is such a hard worker and loves everything about school. She is happy to come home and study and do homework. Wow, do you think that attitude will stay the same for the years to come?

Our sweet neighbors invitied us out to the lake for Labor Day. We were so excited to go. I love the water and was so excited to get the girls out on the boat. This was going to be their first time. The weather was a little overcast but it was not going to stop us at all!

Carsyn not to sure about the whole thing yet. (She ended up loving every minute.) She slept on the ride over and back on the boat. She loved getting in the water!

The little girl that was afraid to talk to someone she did not know is now jumping off ledges that are over 40 feet high. WOW things have changed!

For the past couple of years Callie has wanted to play soccer. Well, as a working mother I had Saturday and Saturday only to get everything completed. So, now that I am not working it was the perfect time for us to get on the soccer train. Callie loves it. She is learning all the rules and how to play. We are so proud of her!

Casryn had a very exciting birthday weekend. My parents came to town for a quick stop over on Friday. That was also Carsyn's first day of MDO, which she LOVED! Carsyn was so excited to see them and her new Barbie Jeep. (I seemed to erase the pictures from my camera) Then on Saturday we took her to Chucky Cheese. She has been BEGGING us to take her there.

Our dearest Carsyn,
You have grown up so much this year. It has been a vert busy year for us as a family and you held on with no problems. You gave up alot of your favorites this year. Pacy went bye bye. It was a hard few weeks but you did so well. We also have mastered potty training this year. I put it off and finally you had enough and decided it was time. During the lovely snow storm in Februray you took off the diapers and have pretty much gone without since.
You love to play many things. Playing Mommy and School seem to be at the top of your list. You also want to be a part of anything you big sister is doing. You are always talking and love to pretend talk on the phone. We love you so much!

Callie started school this week. We are so blessed with living in a great neighborhood that goes to a school that is highly recommended. Callie's teacher is Mrs. Page. Callie had heard lots about her from our neighbor Isabell. She has done a great job so far this week. She seems to be very tired when she gets home but happy. She plays school all afternoon and uses Carsyn as her student. It is very intresting.

There is no doubt in my mind that God has taken care of us throughout this whole move. One way that I can show that is through our neighbors. I could not have asked for better neighbors then what we got. We have two sets of neighbors that have taken us in and done all they can to show how kind people in Arkansas can be. For example,I had only been here a few weeks and we were having terrible weather. Well, we all know how much I love those. The tornado had just hit Joplin and Chris was out of town. They were calling for terrible storms in our town that night. My sweet neighbors knew I was by myself. They invitied the girls and myself to spend the night. Can you ask for anything nicer? The list goes on and on. My other sweet neighbor gets up at the crack of dawn to workout with me each day. The added bonus to all this is that they both have two children that my kids LOVE to be with. Callie begs to play with them and Carsyn holds here own and follows them everywhere.

Tonight we had Spirit night for school. We went with our neighbors and had a great time. Our other sweet neighbors are at the beach so they were not able to come.

I got to take these two sweet girls Rollerskating yesterday. Callie has been begging to go. Carsyn is in Oklahoma this week so it was a great chance to do it. Also it is so hot out I thought it would be a cool thing we could do. Wow, I have to say it was a HUGE workout but lots of fun!

This is how we started but she tried so hard. There were lots of tears and falls but she would NOT give up! I am so proud of her effort.

After two hours this is where we were. I would turn around for a second and she would be off. I am so proud of her!!

She got it and we will be there every night this week. So much fun! Now we just have to tackle the bike without training wheels. I have to tackle that once it cools off outside!

Carsyn has become such a big girl. She seems to always be on the move. Callie attends art classes each Thursday up in Rogers. Carsyn and I spend that hour hanging out. I took her to the oustide mall last week. She played in the fountain. This girl LOVES water of any kind. She had so much fun but missed her Callie.

Despite all the rain we had a great Easter morning. The girls got to look for eggs inside. We went to church. Carsyn went to class and loved it. We really did enjoy the service. The girls are excited because they get a new playhouse from the Easter Bunny. SInce there is so much rain we are going to stay around home for lunch and dinner. The best thing is HE HAS RISEN! This was the best I could do with Carsyn. She does not like pictures.

This year was the best kinder year we could ask for. Mrs. Ewton was an answer to our prayers. Callie LOVES her. She plays school each night. We were beyond sad to leave her. This picture was taken about two minutes before Shel and I started balling! It was such a very sad and hard day for us. Thank you Mrs. Ewton. You will always be the best teacher ever to us all! She did it. She did it. She really did it. On our last day Callie's class performed. Not only did she sing the loudest of her whole class, she had a speaking part. She said it perfectly. Her part was, "A frighten pig screams as loud as a jet engine." It was adorable. So proud of her!

Callie had her last field trip before we left. It was so fun. It was raining so we did not get to drive the jeeps. She did not care though. She learned about 911 and fire safety. She had a wonderful time and I was so glad I was there with her.

For the 100th day of school Callie was to dress up like a old person. She had so much doing it. It was in the middle of all the snow days but we were able to pull something together!

What a week we have had!

On Sunday Chris left after being here for 2 weeks. It was so sad to see him leave. Of course an hour after he left Carsyn started to run a fever. So I had to take Monday off and I took her to the doctor. They were saying we were going to get snow so I made a last minute run to the store. Well Monday night it started.

Around 12 I woke up to loud noises hitting the window and thunder. I looked over at Callie and she was sound asleep and on fire. 101 fever (of course)

Well the rain turned to ice and we were out of school the rest of the week. I loved it! Callie had a fever until Friday so it was nice to not have to miss those days. On Thursday we headed to Target to get some supplies. It was not an easy drive. The car had to stay out front since I could not get it back in the garage. Then on Friday we got snow! We got a ton of snow. We will see what tomorrow brings! The girls played so well together for the most part. We had to have some private time in their rooms but all in all they did really well. Wow things have really changed

Last weekend Callie got to go to two birthday parties. The exciting thing about these is that they were her friends from PreSchool. She was so excited. The first one was bowling, her favorite. I was so busy talking to the other parents (no surprise) that I did not get any pictures. The fact that I was able to talk and not having to be right by Callie tells alot. She played and had a wonderful time. There were kids that she did not know but by the end of the party she knew everyone. It made me happy.

The second party was at a place in Mckinney that we love. Callie had her party there last year. The parents walked around the square while the kids played at the party. When I got back everyone kept saying they were in shock at how much Callie had changed. They could not belive how she had gone from this shy little girl to an outgoing little lady. She was singing and dancing all by herself. HMMMMM sounds a little like her mommy.

You have had a great year. You are always talking and have no issues telling us what you want or need. You are very busy and we have to watch you like a hawk. You have made tons of friends at school. You also LOVE gymnastics and like to play it at home as well. You are always playing school with your babies. You are changing them and putting them night night. You asks lots of questions and continue to do it until you get the answer you want.

We love you girls. The most important thing that we have to say is that you know about God and have LOVED learning all you can about him. You both tell everyone that God is in your heart. In the eyes of your mom and dad that is the most important thing in your life!

Not sure how long it has been since my last post. It has been a little busy. I love this time of year and catching up with friends and family. It is a great time and this year since our family has been apart it was even more special! We went back and forth on the tree and we finally decorated. We of course saved the angel for when Daddy was here. Here are some pictures of our big tree and our playroom tree!

We are so proud of our sweet Callie. She got her 2nd posive referal his school year. She got to do a happy visit to the office and get a call home! Mrs. Fathree called daddy and Callie was so excited! We are so proud of our sweet girl. She is so sweet and such a great leader at school!

We had a great Halloween this year. It was crazy getting the house ready to sell but we made it! The girls were both well for once and they had a wonderful time! Carsyn got into it very early. She would say," Lights off no go Lights on lets go" She must have said a million times Thank you and Trick or Treat! It was so so cute!

I have taught Callie a lot in her 6 years. Not all I have taught was good but oh well. She has been trying to tie her shoes forever.. We bought a book and tired this summer but she always ended up getting upset. Well last night in about 5 minutes Daddy taught her how to do it. She has been practicing over and over! We are so excited! Now we have to tackle the whole bike isssue!!

Boosterthon

For our annual fundraiser we do the Boosterthon. The kids have to get pledges and then run/walk laps. Thanks to such a wonderful family we had lots of support. Callie had a great time. She was very shy at first but then she got way into it! She ran all 35 laps. Most kids walked and only did about 20. We are so proud of our little girl! (The pictures are not the best but I had to post them)

Carsyn is all about playing school these days. Callie is all about playing school these days. As you can imagine their ideas of what school should be are very different. Callie is a little teacher in training! She never stops! Carsyn LOVES to put her babies night night and tell us all to be quiet! I snapped a few pictures! Callie will not let me take her picture while she is teaching. She says that is against the rules!

Carsyn figured out how to get to out of their bed. On Saturday morning I went to let the dogs out at about 7:00. I saw the door to the hall closet open. In side was sweet Carsyn with her diaper off and she was trying to wipe herself clean. She had a huge smile on her face and she said, "I can do it all by myself." Well last night she slept all night and we had to go get her this morning! I am ok with it all as long as she does it when she wakes up not when I put her to bed. We will see!!!!

Tooth Fairy

Callie finally lost her first tooth. What a huge day for us. The sad thing is that she losts it at school and it was never recovered. It happened at lunch! I could not BELIEVE that she did not cry about it all! She got FIVE dollars and a VERY sweet note from the ToothFairy! We are so proud of our big girl!

We finally did it. We got Carsyn's big girl bed. Now the bedding is not here yet but it was time. Carsyn has done really well. She knows how to get out but has been good about getting back in when it is time. We will see if it continues! We will take better pictures are soon as all the bedding is made.

In Frisco ISD they use the problem solving strategy of UPS check. It is a long process but really good. Callie did her first UPS check paper today! I am so proud. I had to get over the fact the numbers are written incorrectly because she really did a great job! Had to share!!

This weekend we headed to Oklahoma to celebrate Carsyn's 2nd birthday. Her cousin Hannah has one a couple of weeks before hers. We had a great time. Carsyn got beds and a wagon for Lilly and Landry! Thanks to everyone for making it such a wonderful time!!

Callie took three weeks of lessons and can swim everywhere! She is doing great! Carsyn has no fear and loves the water. We started in the ring and have changed to floaties. She goes under and is even blowing bubbles! No more swallowing water! What fun!!

We finally decided that it was time to put Carsyn in a gymnastics class. She was a little unsure at first but she loves it now! She even is following directions without needing my help!! On Saturday I went an saw the best show I have ever seen in my life! I had the pleasure of seeing Les Mis when I was in 5th grade. I think I was the only one in our family that stayed awake throughout the whole show. I had heard so much about Wicked but I had not idea what it was all about. I went in without hearing any of the full songs. We had perfect seats in the 5th row. I went with a great group of friends, one that had a parking pass that got us right by the front door, and on a great day! I was beyond amazed!! I have some new favortie quotes on being, "Not all of us can travel in a bubble!" "There is no place like home" The music was incredible and there were parts that were so funny! I am counting the days till I can go back! I have always wondered why everyobe sings there songs so much! Now I am guilty of the same thing! I feel so pumped up about life after seeing it!
Of course my favorite song is this one! I love it and can not begin to tell you how much the words motivate me!

New Toy

I had a wonderful birthday yesterday. Chris got me a new video camera and the girls got me a new purse. My family got me gift cards a new camera jewerly and money to do some shopping. I spent the whole day with some great friends laughing and having a great time! We went and saw Wicked. It was incredible! I have been singing it all day! Wow!! We went and got Callie in Ok today and dropped off Carsyn. I was happy to see Callie but so sad to see Carsyn go!! Callie leaves tomorrow for Indiana and I am so sad that she will be so far away. As much as I want a break I miss them so much!! I am having such a hard time without my girls but I am so glad they are getting so one on one time with their grandparents! How much fun and how brave of our parents to volunteer! Here is video Callie made today!

Splash Park

Callie is spending the week with Mimi and Paw. While she is gone we are trying to do some fun activities with Carsyn. Today when she got home we went to the Splash Park. At first she was not to sure. It did not take long though and then she was all over it. She had so much fun and it was such a joy to watch. She did keep asking for Callie though! I enjoy some one on one time with her but I sure miss Callie!!

Friday was the last day of school of the girls. We have been so blessed. The girls had wonderful teachers and loved school. I can not tell you what a joy it is to have your kids run into school each day with a hige smile on their faces! We are going to miss that!
